I’ve rented apartments for years now. Never before have I rented an apartment as expensive as 7 Riverway. And never before have I rented an apartment as terrible as 7 Riverway.
In summary, I would like warn potential renters.
7 Riverway is a beautiful property in a wonderful location. It has wonderful views.
Unfortunately the management, staff, and maintenance are atrocious. For a building as new as 7 Riverway, the Hanover Property Management Company should be ashamed. The maintenance of the unit, and quality of the personnel are a joke.

Below are some specific examples of my experience at 7 Riverway, and all that I’ve had the opportunity to “concentrate on”…
1. CLAIM - “Dedicated Concierge, Valet and Bell Captain Services”
a. REALITY – “dedicated” to what? I’m not exactly sure, but I can guarantee that it’s NOT service. i. On numerous occasions, I’ve stood at the front desk, requesting help from the evening concierge, while he sat on the entrance sofa, relaxing. ii. The second night after moving in, the concierge literally was at the front desk eating a sandwich, while I attempted to push a huge cart through two security doors (which he did not help to open). The phone went to voicemail twice when I called to request help from the valet.
2. CLAIM – “Open gourmet kitchens with large islands, overhead vent hoods, granite slab countertops and stainless steel appliances”
a. REALITY – My garbage disposal has not worked in months. There are cracks throughout my “granite slab countertops”.
3. CLAIM – “Custom European-style cabinetry”
a. REALITY – Never once in Europe, did I seen cabinets that slam into one another when opening them back to back.
4. CLAIM – “Luxury bathrooms with custom framed mirrors, frameless shower doors and oversized oval soaking tubs”
a. REALITY – The “Oversized oval soaking tubs” are beautiful. Too bad they don’t work. I can fill mine 1/5 of the way full with hot water. I’ve asked that maintenance correct the problem. Orlando, the maintenance manager, has not been able to resolve the issue during his, no less than 7 attempts.
5. CLAIM – “Full-size Maytag Atlantis washers and dryers”
a. REALITY – My washing machine didn’t work for 5 days after moving in (although I requested maintenance immediately). Both the washer and dryer are extremely loud.
ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF THE INCOMPETENCE AT 7 RIVERWAY:
1. My closet shelf collapsed twice when I placed one suitcase (less than 10 lbs) on it. Orlando “fixed” the problem (after the shelf initially fell and broke my items beneath it). It broke again the very same day.
2. My bathroom drawer didn’t work for weeks, although Nancy, the property manager, had said that it (along with numerous other things) would be completed before move-in.
3. Upon moving-in, I never received so much as a welcome letter, listing the building’s service providers. I spoke with the asst. manager, Nicole, 3 days later. Nicole said that she was really busy (didn’t have time for a new resident..?), but that “she’d email me the "move-in" information.” Not the “7 Riverway Oasis welcome” that I’d expected.
4. When signing the lease, I asked this same leasing agent (Nicole) a few questions. She mocked me, “What are you, a lawyer or something?” Very unprofessional.
5. Upon move-in, I specifically requested “no entry by any and all 7-Riverway staff”. Nancy (property manager) verbally confirmed that, at all times, I would be notified before entrance. Nancy committed that “under no circumstance would anyone enter my apartment without my signature”. We discussed the issue at great length. Several days later maintenance entered my apartment to “fix” the shelf and washer, both of which remained broken. To be clear, Maintenance entered my apartment without a signature or a call,…or any other form of permission. I had specifically requested NO ENTRY AT ANY TIME.
The list goes on, but I hope the above information helps you to make an informed decision before choosing 7 Riverway as your home.
